Born in Mexico and based in Madrid, Paloma Rincón creates visual games in the unique intersection where photography meets sculpture, design, installation and/or illustration. Her quirky images are marked by bold colours, graphic compositions and unexpected juxtapositions. These playful and contemporary photographs are the result of a meticulous planning process, resulting in a selection of props, textures and lighting techniques that all come together in a unique harmony. By combining her masterful technical knowledge with the creative approach of a craftsman, Paloma plays with reality and allows the beauty of handcraft to recover its value and magic in our digital world.
“Her work updates the tradition of the still life to the digital, advertising age. And it’s so hashtag aesthetic - no momento mori here; instead, Rincón is interested in bright colours and fascinating forms, with palpable textures and absurd juxtapositioning. She’s a photographer, but also the author of the formal compositions her lens captures”
